Food Facts: Why My Mom Made Me Drink Cow's Milk

Hello, world! Ah, milk. It used to be the bain of my existence while growing up. My mother would pour me up a glass of whole milk and I had to drink all of it by the end of the day. My tiny child palette did not enjoy the taste and after doing a lab on milk last semester I can tell you my adult palette feels the same way. Well, not exactly. What I did take from the lab was that out of the many kinds of milk I just don't enjoy whole milk. Flashback Friday: Catch Up Time!

Texas A&M DIPW Year End Bash 2021 Hello World and Happy New Year! It's been a hot minute since I last posted and that's because life's been busy! Let me catch you up a bit with this flashback. On October 30, 2021 my fellow RD2Be's and I attended the Dietetic Internship Preparation Workshop (DIPW) hosted by Texas A&M every year. My biggest take away from this trip was that not only do I have a butt ton of options (which is only a little overwhelming), but also that this journey could take me some place I didn't imagine. Almost every single RD I spoke to said that they originally wanted to go into one field of work and ended up some place else. So, who knows maybe I'll be a pediatric dietitian like I'm planning, or maybe I'll work in private practice, or with veterans, or maybe God has some other plan in general? Hello world! Even though I've graduated I do want to continue this blog either with project from my final semester or with new content just to continue my education outside of school. Today I wanted to show everyone my last big project from Development Psych. You might be wondering why that class would be important for someone who's a nutrition major. Well like most science fields they can all connect and sometimes blend together. One of the first steps to helping someone with their eating habits is to understand their why. Some of us eat out of boredom, some because we're emotional, and others simply because that's what we were taught. The same can be said for why someone wouldn't eat as well.
